Which one are you? Judas or a sincere Man of God? By By Edison D Bynoe Matthew 26:14-16, 19-25, 47-50; 27:3-5. Let’s consider some notes in relation to our texts. Judas may have been the only disciple coming from Judea; the rest came from Galilee – 26:14. He was an apostle – 26:14. He initially may have […]
Every year worldwide, there must be millions of people who die prematurely because they have drunk too much of it. And there must be tens of millions alive today, maybe more, who suffer from alcohol addiction.
By Tesh Njokanma A heading like this can create different kinds of reactions. Curiosity in the minds of some people. Controversial discussions amongst some people. While some others may be stunned to see a heading like this. The reason being that a lot of people believe sex isn’t something a Holy and Righteous God has any […]
Looking back, was that the epitome of idleness, or what? My act of digging up the past from the grave of yesterday never failed to fatten me with grasps of bitterness. By the time I was through with this sheepish ritual that I find hard to believe I used to partake in, there were always two consequences.
During a cross country trip traveling with my daughter, we sat in a roadside restaurant somewhere in South Dakota. As our attention was directed to a little girl about 3 or 4 years old. I am not sure anymore what she did to get our attention, but I remember commenting to her father about how cute she was. “Well, she is definitely a leader” her father commented, and with a chuckle he continues to tell us “I said to my wife, we better make sure she goes down the right road, because if we don’t she will be taking a lot of people down the wrong road with her”.
Samson had a unique ministerial assignment which called for a unique way of carrying it out; so He was well equipped to do it. The Scriptures confirms "...the Lord...was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines. For at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel." Judges 14:4b.

Times have changed, to be sure, but man has not, and conflicts similar as this go on all the time over a multitude of matters. Every serious minded Christian is concerned about the will of God, and must stand for his convictions. The problem comes when equally serious minded Christians have opposite convictions, and both are justifying their convictions by saying they are following the will of God.
By Cate Russell-Cole Going through David’s life, there are some parts which bother me and one is his dance with the truth. David told three major lies to get out of trouble in his early life: 1. to the Priests at Nob; [Ref. 1 Samuel 21, Nob and point 2.] 2. when he first fled into […]
There are other important issues that take up our time and attention. Where does the family fit into our roles as godly businesswomen? God places tremendous value on the family is which has often been acknowledged as one of the "building blocks" of society. Successful families are vital to the health of any nation. The woman described in Proverbs 31 is able to focus not only on her business, but also on her home.
When a person is bound or oppressed, he does things that are beyond human reasoning and plays the fool beyond his or her control. Notice, I did not say possessed. This is because a Christian cannot be possessed--he or she can only be demonized or oppressed. For a Christian to be possessed, he or she ceases to be a Christian, because the demonic forces have completely taken over his or her spirit being. This has to occur willingly. Only an unbeliever whose spirit is defenseless and open to occupation can be possessed.
Godly Soul Ties function to strengthen marriages and unite husband and wife beyond the physical.
The first Mother’s Day after losing my child was devastating for me. I did not want to go to church or hear the word “mother” at all. Going to baby showers was almost out of the question. For years I asked myself, “How will I ever get past this?” I just couldn’t see it.
"I have seen a son of Jesse... who plays skillfully, a valiant, a man of war, prudent in speech" (I Sam. 16:18 Amp).
Forgive me; I know the headline is a bit harsh, but both, the revealing picture and the "less than polite" title emphasize today's subject: prudence in speech--the next virtue of young David. (Warning: You may not like what's next... and this article is definitely not for the faint of heart).
Adversity is bound to come calling at one point or another in our Christian walk. It is an inevitable fire that tests us in ways we never imagined. Our attitude during this reign of turbulence is most times the yard stick that measures its altitude
An experience that has risen to the fore is that of Amber Causey, formerly in the US Army and presently a semi-finalist for Miss Veteran America. At 16, Amber Causey, from Illinois, Chicago, was pimped out by a man she met at a local mall, to become a prostitute who bore the pain of being raped hundreds of times.
Pornography is a close cousin of voyeurism, where a person derives sexual pleasure by secretly observing the sexual activity of other people.
Pornographic addiction is also different from sexual addiction, where a person is obsessed with sex to the extent that he becomes dysfunctional in other areas of life.
Pornography provides unhealthy sexual experiences that make the person unable to form meaningful relationships with the opposite sex, and therefore remains a sexual cripple.
I am walking in perfect health today; I am filled with joy today; I am prosperous and successful today; my dreams are colorful, my visions are clear, and my goals are gigantic, and I am blessed, in Jesus name. My steps are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23).
We are warned in Scripture to discern the spirits to see whether they are of God. Never was this gift so needed as in today’s violent society. And it is not simply criminals and con artists who warrant this exercise; oftentimes everyday citizens do as well.
Agape love is not touch-feely or romantic in any way. Nor is it a good-old-boy slap on the back kind of love. Agape love which is the love of God would be best defined as “right behavior in the midst of difficult circumstances.”
The human race as well as church member are engaged in a War that is spiritual or invisible to the human eye…THIS IS SPIRITUAL WARFARE. For some it appears to never relent. Today the television commercials push a myriad of psychotropic drugs like candy often with serious side effects all in the name of peace of mind.
I found out after the surgery I had 100% blockage in left anterior descending (LAD) artery that runs down the front of the heart and supplies the front and main wall (that's a before and after picture to the right). That kind of heart attack is commonly called a Widowmaker, a little nugget of info I’m glad Sheila and I didn’t know that at the time.
It's time to stop briefly and take a look at where you are at this mid-point of your life span. If you spend a few productive hours re-evaluating where you are and where you're headed, you can create a much more satisfying, productive and fulfilling future for yourself and for those you love.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2, NIV).
The last several months, heads have been rolling—heads of the rich and powerful in entertainment, government, and media. Many have trusted and even idolized these so-called foundations of our society. These men believed they would never fall.
There's nothing wrong with doing those things, but if you never set aside time to focus wholeheartedly on prayer or the Bible, your relationship with God will feel cluttered and superficial. It's not too late to develop new spiritual habits.
Sin first comes as a temptation. The devil does not force anyone to commit sin. He entices, dangles sins and exhibits pleasures of sins but we can choose either to resist or yield to them. He did same with Christ but Christ chose to resist him.
So many of us give up easily out of fear of the two-lettered word NO. Opportunities, promotions, increase, respect, and more have slipped away from us because of the surge of discouragement within us when the word “no” slips into our ears. For those who are conscious of their authority to trample the word “no” under their confident feet, even the sky is not their limit.
While it is not in the character of God to curse, it is discovered that the violation of God’s laws triggers curses. God’s laws carry adverse consequences that sometimes result in a generational curse when disobeyed. Therefore God does not need to verbally put a curse on someone before the curse like a time bomb kicks in.
Each gender has its own marital duties that when practiced appropriately make the marriage thrive. "The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband." (1 Corinthians 7:3)

1. Dear Lord, I come before thee just as I am; if there be any sin in my life that is hindering my miracle from coming forth, please forgive me, in Jesus' name.
By Mark Huddleston There are different kinds of people you should avoid. Pessimistic people defy all logic. These types of people are unaware in most cases of the negative impact they have on the people they associate with. Then there are others who are quite aware of the impact that they have on the people […]
