The focus of the ministry is on the unreached peoples of the world who have not heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, specifically those who live in the 10/40 Window in Africa, Asia, Middle East and beyond. This specific region is home to the majority of the world's Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists. Two thirds of the world's population of spiritually lost and impoverished people for whom Jesus Christ bled and died live in this desperately needy mission field. Overwhelmed with poverty, disease and demonic deception, the people of the 61 countries in the 10/40 Window urgently need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Founded in 1989, Dr. Tayo Brown is the overseer and co-director of GRA Mission Squad which has a vision of raising a perfect people just like Jesus Christ on the earth. God's Remnant Assembly has been faithfully reaching and planting churches in the 10/40 window. Different strategies are employed with each unreached people group they minister to. Some methods used to evangelize include education, health care, Food, humanitarian or traditional means. The passion for the unreached is fueled by the ministry's hunger to fulfill the Great Commission of reaching souls at all costs. Birthed by the Holy Spirit on March 9, 1989, the vision behind God's Remnant Assembly can be found in the entire chapters of MICAH, ISAIAH, EZRA AND NEHEMIAH with references from Genesis to Revelation. According to Brown, "The vision is to be conformed to whom (Jesus Christ) we preach, whom we serve (Jesus Christ) and whom we worship (Jesus Christ) as His devout followers fulfilling the Great Commission among the unreached in the continents of Africa, Asia and the Middle East (known as the 10/40 window of the world) through training, sending out and assisting qualified laborers in partnership with the entire Body of Christ."
Brown is a Geneticist and Breeder by training with his Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Genetics and Breeding. He attended the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Catholic University of America, Oklahoma State University and also received training at Johnson Space Center in Houston. As a Geneticist, he's been involved in research in Genetic Engineering, Molecular Genetics, Cytogenetics, obtaining DNA sequence, developing DNA markers,
Genomics, Genetic Mapping, Genetic toxicology involving detection of toxic mutagenic and clastogenic activity in characterized test systems. He is also the setman of "Hear the Lord Ministries", an outreach ministry of God's Remnant Assembly destined to teach saints the ways of God, as they walk in His paths so as to possess the former dominion where the whole spirit, soul and body of man is being preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Micah 4: 2, 8, 1 Thess 5: 23).
A biography of Brown describes him as "an anointed Son of God, a missionary with a prophetic and apostolic grace. A pastor to pastors whose primary ministry is to travel throughout the nations where he is received by many as an apostle, prophet and teacher of present truth concerning the Kingdom of God."
He is married to his sweetheart, Sarah Brown, an Environmental Science graduate from the Trinity University in Washington. She is an Educator and with her husband they are laborers together in the Lord's vineyard. She is the co-director of GRA Mission Squad. Sarah Brown, known as a mother in Israel, is also the President of the Family Development and Samaritan Foundation, Inc (FDSF) - a non-taxable and a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization in the United States. She and Dr. Brown are the parents of two sons, Danielgold and Immanuel.
To date, God's Remnant Assembly has been to many different countries utilizing native missionaries as well as training members of their staff to thrive on the mission field. From Saudi Arabia to China, GRA mission squad is winning souls for the kingdom in impressive numbers.
Nations the Lord has instructed God's Remnant Assembly to go to include Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bhutan, Brunei, Chad, China, Comoro Islands, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kuwait, India, Iran, Iraq, Laos, Libya, Malaysia, Niger, Northern Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen and others. Currently, God's Remnant Assembly Mission Squad native missionaries have established several hundreds of churches and mission stations where no church existed before in several of these 10/40 window nations. On average, their missionaries establish approximately 5-10 fellowships every other month among the unreached villages and people groups. None of this has come easily. Their native missionaries are paying a high price of suffering, hardship and persecution that comes with evangelism in most unreached people groups.
God's Remnant Assembly trains and equips missionaries from others churches because of their wealth of expertise from being on the field for quite some time. They view the local church as the primary sending agent of missionaries, and GRA Mission Squad as the conduit that facilitates the church's sending. They provide the oversight for field missionaries that local churches cannot provide from a distance. It is their goal to help local churches to the best of their ability and encourage interested parties to call and see if they can partner together to fulfill the Great Commission.
When asked to share some risks that the GRA has undertaken, Brown remembers "Twice our team was miraculously saved from execution in Kuwait, when 4 men attacked us with swords for preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God. And then in North Africa when militants raided our house, 8 of them armed with machine guns at 1.00am. We had hundreds of Bibles in our house at the time. Also we had been stoned many times, spat at and hit with eggs in several places etc. But could this be compared with many blind, deaf, dumb, crippled people and those with various sicknesses who had received healing in Jesus name, what about those who are demon possessed who received their deliverance and are set free by the power of God in several places. All these put together cannot even be compared to our names that are written in heaven and inscribed in the palms of God's hands in addition to several souls that are being saved and added to a maturing Church, to God alone be all the glory and honor and majesty.
